Press Release

Valais fervor lights up the mountain bike trails for athletes Jolanda Neff and Camille Balanche.

Sion, May 26, 2025. After having adorned the Matterhorn in the colours of the UCI, the organisers  of the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Valais have today unveiled a spectacular  and emotional video. At the heart of this extraordinary visual creation is a red glow, a source of  energy that embodies the fervor of the Valais region, guiding the Valais 2025 ambassadors  through the darkness on the future UCI World Championships tracks.

This unique visual project features the Valais 2025 ambassadors, Jolanda Neff - Olympic Cross-country  Champion in 2021 and six-time World Championship medallist, and Camille Balanche – Downhill World  Champion in 2020 and silver medallist at the 2023 Downhill World Championships. They were filmed at  night on the future courses of the 2025 UCI World Championships. Followed by an FPV drone equipped  with a red light, they move across a land transformed into a glowing path, where every moment reveals  a new trajectory or a new obstacle.

« It was both scary and exhilarating to ride at night with this drone around me, especially with the red glow following us like a living symbol », says Camille Balanche.

« Feeling the fervor of the Valais is like being carried and challenged by the Olympic flame. There's a special energy here. », says Jolanda Neff.

This nocturnal immersion, at the frontier of sport, art and technology, fully reflects the emotional and  spectacular dimension of the forthcoming UCI World Championships. It highlights the many challenges  to be met, the unique diversity of the places crossed, and the way in which the alliance between the  Valais and technology creates an unprecedented experience and atmosphere.

« The aim was not simply to produce an LED-lit video, but to create a real visual experience. We wanted  to bring together the raw, natural energy of the Valais, the technical demands of mountain biking and  the precision of professional mountain bikers, » explains Tanguy Bibus, art director of the project for  Valais 2025.
