Valais is exceptionally well connected, offering a wide range of sustainable transport options to reach all competition sites. As part of our commitment to hosting an environmentally friendly UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, we encourage visitors to travel by bike or use public transportation. Trains and buses provide a peaceful and scenic way to explore the region, while convenient connections via Postbus, cable car, and funicular make getting to each venue easy and comfortable.
Exploring the valleys of Valais with your mountain bike couldn’t be easier, thanks to the region’s extensive bus and train network offering bike-friendly services. From mid-May to mid-October, over 40 bus routes accommodate mountain bikes, with buses equipped with racks or trailers for convenient transport. Trains across Valais also feature special bike racks. As space for bikes is limited, we recommend reserving your spot in advance via the SBB Mobile app or online at sbb.ch.
