The responsible party within the meaning of the data protection laws, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), is:
Association CM MTB UCI Valais 2025
In cooperation with our hosting providers, we make every effort to protect the databases as well as possible against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or falsification.
We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. A complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
By using this website, you consent to the collection, processing and use of data in accordance with the following description. This website can generally be visited without registration. Data such as pages accessed or names of files accessed, date and time are stored on the server for statistical purposes without this data being directly related to your person. Personal data, in particular name, address or e-mail address are collected as far as possible on a voluntary basis. Without your consent, the data will not be passed on to third parties.
The following cookie types and functions are distinguished:
- Temporary cookies (also: session cookies): Temporary cookies are deleted at the latest after a user has left an online offer and closed his browser.
- Permanent cookies: Permanent cookies remain stored even after the browser is closed. For example, the login status can be saved or preferred content can be displayed directly when the user visits a website again. Likewise, the interests of users used for reach measurement or marketing purposes can be stored in such a cookie.
- First-party cookies: First-party cookies are set by us.
- Third-party cookies (also: third-party cookies): Third-party cookies are mainly used by advertisers (so-called third parties) to process user information.
- Necessary (also: essential or absolutely necessary) cookies: Cookies may be absolutely necessary for the operation of a website (e.g. to store logins or other user input or for security reasons).
Storage period: If we do not provide you with explicit information about the storage period of permanent cookies (e.g. in the context of a so-called cookie opt-in), please assume that the storage period can be up to two years.
- Types of data processed: Usage data (e.g. websites visited, interest in content, access times), meta/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses).
- Data subjects: Users (e.g., website visitors, users of online services).
- Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a. DSGVO), Legitimate Interests (Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f. DSGVO).
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your data from the inquiry form including the contact data you provided there will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
You have the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter through our website. This requires registration. As part of the registration process, you must supply your e-mail, your name and your first name. This information is compulsory for data processing (mailing the newsletter).
By registering, you give us permission to process the information supplied in order to send the newsletter regularly to the address you provided, for statistical analysis of user behaviour, and to optimise the newsletter. This consent constitutes our legal basis for processing your e-mail address and other information as specified in art. 13 para. 1 FADP and Art. 6 para. 1 let. a GDPR.
You thereby also authorise us to commission third parties to carry out technical processing to manage our newsletter system, and authorise us to pass on your data for this purpose.
At the end of every newsletter is a link that allows you to unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
Once the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships are over, you will receive the Valais/Wallis Promotion newsletters (news, activity tips, offers, competitions, information on Valais products and gastronomy) instead of information on the World Championships. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of each e-mail. After unsubscribing, your personal data will be deleted. Further processing is only done in an anonymous form in order to optimise our newsletter.
Analysis of newsletter use
To send out our newsletter, we use e-mail marketing services supplied by third parties. Our newsletter may therefore contain a so-called web beacon (tracking pixel) or similar technical tool. A web beacon is an invisible graphic image measuring 1x1 pixel that is associated with the user ID of the corresponding newsletter subscriber.
The use of such services allows us to determine if the e-mails containing our newsletter have been opened or not. These tools can also help record and evaluate the click-through behaviour of the newsletter recipient. We use these data for statistical purposes and to optimise our newsletter in terms of content and structure. This enables us to tailor the information and offers in our newsletter better to the individual interests of each recipient. The tracking pixel is deleted when you delete the newsletter.
To prevent tracking pixels from being included in our newsletters, please set your e-mail programme so that no HTML is displayed in messages.
Use of Google reCAPTCHA
We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on our websites. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter "Google". The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to verify whether data entry on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is made by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time spent by the website visitor on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google. The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not notified that an analysis is taking place.
This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.
